I am big new fan of Queen Mary of Denmark , I think she is Europes highest ranking Queen and is indeed beautiful enough to be Queen of even Russia. Long live Queen Mary of Denmark who I adores. P.S. I hope to one days meet Queen Mary to say hi.

I don't really think she would be Europes highest ranking Queen either. I think that honour would certainly go to Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.

yes and also Mary will not have the same power as Queen Margrethe has. Frederik will be king and a king is always more powerful than a queen. Also the reason why Henrik is a prince and not a king. It is Margrethe who is supose to be the most powerful.

I don't know I would agree with you that a King is always more powerful than a Queen. A Kings wife is usually his Consort but I don't think he has any power.
In history I think possibly the"powerful" Queens Regnant in history may have been Elizabeth I of England or Catherine the Great of Russia (She actually was an Empress)
Queen Victoria and Elizabeth II, even Margrathe II of Denmark, or Beatrix of Holland are not powerful. Respected and influential yes, but I don't believe they actually yield any political power . Of course I may be wrong.

Well what i'm trying to say is that the king is above the queen.. King Frederik was above Queen Ingrid because he was born in the danish royal family and therefore regnet of Denmark. Queen Margrethe is suppose to be the regent in Denmark therefore Henrik cannot be a king because then he would be above Margrethe.
Do you see what i mean?

Yes I see what you are getting at. IT can be hard for some people to realise the difference in status. I think the simplest way is: A Queen married to a KING is lower than the King as HE is the Monarch and she is his QUEEN Consort.. The spouse of a QUEEN Regnant does not take the title of King just because he marries a Queen. Usually they are known as Prince Consort or in the case of Queen Elizabeth II husband, The Duke of Edinburgh. I hope that may help members like luvanotfighta to understand the difference Regards Keely
